Cleveland Lakefront Development Could See City Infrastructure Funds
The downtown lakefront in Cleveland, OH is anticipating $280 million worth of new development and the city is looking to support the development with $9 million in tax increment financing, according to cleveland.com.
Chubbuck, ID Could Prompt Mall Improvements through TIF District
The Idaho State Journal reports the Chubbuck City Council will vote on a 20-year TIF to help with the Pine Ridge Mall infrastructure improvements. The City of Chubbuck currently only has one other TIF district in operation.
Job Creation Added to TIF Contract in Grand Island, NE
The Grand Island's Community Redevelopment Authority approved a $2.6 million tax increment financing contract that incorporates a job creation requirement, according to the Grand Island Independent. The contract states the city wants 35 workers employed and 51 percent of those employees should be of low to moderate income.
Merriam Town Center TIF Expiring; Value Increased by 13 Times
According to the Prairie Village Post, the City of Merriam, KS is closing down a tax increment financing district that increased in value thirteen times from it's original assessed value. The city's share of property tax will increase by $328,914 once the TIF expires.
TIF Part of Tools to Spur Downtown Grand Forks Growth
Building on an example city leaders witnessed in Fort Collins, CO, the City of Grand Forks, ND is considering the expanded use of tax increment financing to help transform their downtown, as reported by the Grand Fork Herald.
