CRC Negotiates $8B Reinvestment Plan
The California Reinvestment Coalition has set goals for reinvestment in low and moderate income communities totaling 10% of the bank's statewide deposits in 2017, and then increasing to 12% by 2021, and 15% by 2025.
GO-Biz Approves $70M in California Tax Credits
The California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development approved $70 million in tax credits for 103 companies. The tax credits will help create a projected 9,369 California jobs.
SC Water District Buys Sacramento-San Joaquin Islands for $175M
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California agreed to purchase islands in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta for $175 million, a controversial decision that some opponents view as part of a water grab.
San Francisco Seawall Upgrades Could Cost $5B
Upgrades and repairs to San Francisco's northern seawall to make it more resilient to earthquakes and rising sea levels could cost more than $5 billion, the Port of San Francisco said in a report it delivered to the city on April 11.
Castaic, CA Water Agency Approves $71M Bond Issuance
Directors of the Castaic Lake Water Agency Board authorized a $71 million bond issuance to repair and build infrastructure. The bonds will also be used to refund old certificates of participation.
Foster City, CA Outlines $131M Capital Improvement Plan
City officials plan to repair their wastewater treatment plant, repave streets, and construct a multi-million dollar levee over 10 years. The projects will be financed through a variety of mechanisms, including bonds and a state revolving loan program.
Enhanced Financing Improvement Districts Growing in Popularity
A California tool known as Enhanced Financing Improvement Districts are growing in popularity, reports California Economic Summit. There are currently an estimated 60 projects under construction across California using EFIDs.
Kresge Community Finance RFP
Kresge Community Finance is a $30 million program-related investment finance offering to certified CDFIs and quasi-public or private DFAs. The foundation will select applications through a competitive Request-for-Proposals (RFP).
