USDA Announces Funding to Improve Rural Electric Infrastructure
The Rural Development Deputy Under Secretary has announced that the USDA is making loans to electric cooperatives that will help continue to deliver safe, reliable and affordable electricity to rural residents, business and institutions in nine states.

KY Incentives Support $50M High-Tech Greenhouse
AppHarvest's 2 million square-foot greenhouse will rank among the world's largest. The company plans to grow fresh vegetables year round for consumption in the U.S. The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $2.5 million.

$5.7M CDBG Funds Will Support 13 KY Projects
"We are excited to announce 13 new Community Development Block Grant projects. Each project is designed to aid critical infrastructure needs across the Commonwealth, such as water safety, public facilities and local health resources," said Governor Bevin.

KY Main Street Towns Contribute $110M to Economy
The Kentucky Main Street Program announced this week that 39 participating communities reported cumulative investment of $109,741,515 in their commercial downtown districts in 2016. This total was up significantly from the $76 million of cumulative investment reported by 44 communities in 2015.

Second Round of KY Bond Fund Now Open for Proposals
Governor Matt Bevin and Education and Workforce Development Secretary Hal Heiner announced the launch of the second round of funding for the Kentucky Work Ready Skills Initiative. The total for this round is $34 million.
