GRAD Economic Site Approved By State
Barrow County News reports that the Georgia Department of Economic Opportunity approved a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) site located in Barrow County. The GRAD site program creates shovel-ready sites with advance due diligence. This most recent designation is Barrow County's third GRAD site and its closest to Metro Atlanta, poising the county for more high-paying jobs and capital investment.

Savannah Development Project to Receive $26M in Tax Credits
According to Valdosta Today, a development project in Savannah involving the rehabilitation of an old Georgia Power plant into a luxury hotel will receive $26 million in total tax credits from both the State and Federal Government. The project is expected to create up to 800 jobs.

Georgia Cities See Connections as the Way to Leverage Prosperity
Mayors from Augusta, Macon and Columbus are looking into alternative funding sources to finance transportation infrastructure that improves connections between Atlanta and other regional hubs, according to The Augusta Chronicle.
