Denver Refunding Bonds Keep Tax-Exempt Status After Audit
An IRS audit of $73.6 million of Series A excise revenue refunding bonds issued by the city and county of Denver in 2009 has been closed with no change to the bonds' tax-exempt status. The city and county of Denver made the announcement in an event notice recently posted on the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board's EMMA system.
Mesa County, CO Lands New Business Through Tax Credit Program
The Colorado Economic Development Commission has approved REBCO Enterprises for the Rural Jump-Start Tax Credit Program. The program exempts businesses from paying state income taxes for four years, and provides them with refunds on purchases of all tangible personal property.
Developer May Seek TIF for Fort Collins, CO Project
The owner of 60,000 sq ft of commercial space at Fort Collins' Block 23 may seek tax increment financing through the Downtown Development Authority for a mixed-use redevelopment project, reports the Coloradoan.
Logan County EDC Receives Historic Preservation Grant
History Colorado has provided a $15,000 grant to the Logan County EDC in an effort to rehabilitate the historic Woolworth's building in downtown Sterling. The EPA has also provided the site with Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Assessment Grants.
A Living Art Ecosystem
Fort Collins' Downtown Artery art studio has worked with Colorado Lending Source to acquire a Small Business Administration 504 loan. The Artery is also a for-profit business with diverse revenue streams in order to enhance the social and economic impact of the artistic entrepreneur.
Colorado EDC Approves $14.3M in Tax Credits
The Colorado Economic Development Commission has approved $14.3 million in job growth incentive tax credits for four companies looking to create 805 jobs. The Commission also approved $685,798 in spending rebates for two films, two commercial shoots, and a documentary.
