Announcing the CDFA Community Facilities Technical Assistance Program for Tribal Communities
The Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) is pleased to announce the CDFA Community Facilities Technical Assistance Program for Tribal Communities, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This program aims to increase investment in community facilities infrastructure by providing direct technical assistance and financing resources to tribal communities across the country.

Committee in Indiana Advances Measure to Fund Housing Revolving Fund
A bill establishing a revolving fund - Residential Housing Infrastructure Assistance Program - advanced in committee, but still doesn't have a price tag attached to it. "We are creating a tool for our communities to provide infrastructure for the housing needs they see fit in their communities, especially workforce housing," said Rep. Doug Miller, author of House Bill 1005.

Funding Helps New Farmers Purchase Land in Minnesota
Applications are now being accepted for a new grant program to support Minnesotans purchasing their first farm. The Down Payment Assistance Grant Program is managed by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and offers dollar-for-dollar matching up to $15,000 for qualified small farmers to purchase farmland.

Northfield, OH Mulls Joining Energy Improvement District
Ohio's Northfield Village may join the Akron-Summit County Energy Special Improvement District, and if it does, commercial, industrial and institutional properties would be eligible to take advantage of an energy efficiency revolving loan fund. The Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loan program is managed by the Development Finance Authority (DFA) of Summit County.

DOE Launches $10M Prize to Accelerate Solar in Underrepresented Communities
The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Community Solar Partnership (NCSP) launched a slate of initiatives to support the deployment of equitable community solar projects and recognized projects exemplifying best practices in community solar. Community solar allows any household to access the benefits of renewable energy, with an emphasis on those that cannot access rooftop solar.

Pinellas, FL Considers Clean-Energy Loan Program to Entice Affordable Housing
In a bid to attract developers for affordable housing, Pinellas County could expand a program meant to encourage builders to invest in energy-saving features or ones that improve resiliency to climate change. County commissioners directed staff to bring back more information on possible changes to its Property Assessed Clean Energy program.

Rochester, NY Receives $500K Federal Grant for Brownfields Job Training Program
The City of Rochester is among four organizations in New York State to receive a $500,000 grant through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Brownfields Job Training Program to clean up and transform blighted brownfield sites in the city. The federal grant is the single-largest investment in brownfields infrastructure under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Tennessee Fiber Hemp Project Receives $5M in Grant Funding
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing over $3B in various research projects studying climate-smart agriculture. One such project – Climate-Smart Fiber Hemp: A Versatile Thread Connecting the Nation's Underserved Farmers, Climate Change Mitigation and Novel Market Opportunities – was awarded nearly $5M.

Maryland DHCD-Office Secretary III
This position is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative assistance to the unit in the administration of federal and state grants/loans which provide financial assistance to rental property owners who produce affordable housing units for lower-income households throughout the State. The position also serves as Secretary to the Department's Housing Finance Review Committee.
