CDFA is proud to release its 2017 Policy Agenda. Our agenda outlines numerous recommendations to some of the nation's most difficult development finance issues, and we hope that Congress and the Administration will use our recommendations as a roadmap to improvements in these areas. KY Work Ready Skills Panel Approves 25 Proposals Worth Over $65.5M
The 25 projects are spread across all 10 local workforce areas, with awards ranging from $30,780 – $15.2 million. The projects include construction and renovation of facilities and the purchase of new equipment aimed at providing workforce training and education in Kentucky's top five growth sectors.

Tax Incentives Support Amazon Air Hub in KY
State economic development officials in Kentucky say Amazon plans a nearly $1.5 billion investment that will create 2,700 full- and part-time jobs. The Kentucky Economic Development Authority has given preliminary approval to a tax-incentive package worth up to $40 million over the next 10 years.

Appalachian Regional Commission Awards Funding to Eastern KY
The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has announced nearly $26 million to expand and diversify the economy in coal-impacted communities in five Appalachian states, including several projects in Eastern Kentucky. The 28 awards are projected to train more than 7,300 workers and students.

Incentives Move Kentucky Fresh Harvest Project Forward
In December, KGH received approval for up to $190,000 in tax incentives through the Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act (KEIA). Additionally, KGH received preliminary approval for up to $1.5 million in tax credits through the Kentucky Business Investment (KBI) program.

Louisville Arena Authority to Pursue Yum Center TIF Expansion
The Louisville Arena Authority will lobby the Kentucky General Assemble hard next month for a restructuring of tax increment financing legislation that would allow the KFC Yum Center's TIF agreement to extend 30 years.
