CDFA Defending Development Finance Interests During Tax Reform
On September 27, officials from the White House, the Senate Committee on Finance, and the House Committee on Ways and Means ended months of tax reform speculation by releasing a unified framework for tax reform. Over the coming weeks and months the Congressional tax-writing committees will begin writing legislation based on the unified framework, and we at CDFA will work to ensure that development finance interests are represented throughout this process.
Administration, Congress Release Unified Tax Reform Framework, Explicitly Retains LIHTC
The Trump administration released a "Unified Tax Reform Framework," outlining the consensus principles to guide consideration of tax reform this fall. While the framework "envisions the repeal of other business credits," such as the NMTC, the historic tax credit, and the renewable energy tax credits; framework explicitly retains LIHTC,
CDFA Advocates for Disaster Recovery Bonds
CDFA is calling on Congress to create a permanent, special category of federal tax-exempt bonds, which can be used by states and municipalities to support recovery efforts in the areas affected by disasters, both natural and man-made.
Nation's First Rated Commercial PACE Securitization Completed
Greenworks Lending announced it has closed the nation's first rated securitization of exclusively C-PACE assets. The $75 million issuance was arranged by Guggenheim Securities and TIAA Investments was the lead investor. Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC, rated the securitization.
17 Congressional Democrats Ask for Disaster Relief Package
On September 22nd, 17 Democratic Congressmen and women sent a letter to Committee on Ways & Means Chairman Kevin Brady and Ranking Member Richard Neal, asking for their assistance in passing a disaster relief package to aid the communities and regions affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.
Boise's Two-Decade Downtown Makeover Is Nearly Finished
A financing period, determined in 1986 by the CCDC, for capital improvements to the city's 10-block downtown will sunset next year. Over the last 20 years, downtown Boise has utilized TIF to finance many projects.
NMTC Program Summary Report 2003-2015
The CDFI Fund released a Summary Report and data collected on New Markets Tax Credit investments across the nation through fiscal year 2015. For the first time, the Summary Report being released today categorizes all investments utilizing the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
