City Council Considers New EIFD for L.A. River Revitalization
KCET reports the new financing tool in California known as an Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District (EIFD) is being considered to help finance improvements of the Los Angeles River.

The number of new technology and life sciences companies in San Diego spiked in the first half of 2014, according to The San Diego U-T. The increase highlights how more entrepreneurs are turning to alternative funding such as crowdfunding and angel investors to get their companies started.
Sacramento Co. Selects CaliforniaFIRST for New PACE Program
Sacramento County has selected CaliforniaFIRST for a new PACE program. The program will provide residential and commercial property owners with a process to finance energy efficient and water conservation upgrades.
5 Year Renewal for Temecula Hotel Tourism Improvement District
A Tourism Improvement District (TID) received a five-year renewal that is projected to yield $1.5M annually for Temecula, California. The San Diego Source reports that the TID assessment calculation is a 4% levy on hotel room rates in the Temecula Valley.
IRS Asserts that California Issuer's Bonds Are Taxable PABs
According to The Bond Buyer, the IRS is claiming $25.42 million of bonds issued by the California Statewide Communities Development Authority in 2005 are taxable PABs.
