Clearinghouse CDFI Secures $4M to Finance Affordable Housing Development
Clearinghouse Community Development Financial Institution announced that it was awarded $4 million from the United States Treasury Community Development Financial Institution Fund.  Clearinghouse CDFI will use the assistance to finance the development of affordable housing, targeting projects which benefit homeless and other disenfranchised populations in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.

White House Retrofits Infrastructure Bill to Better Help Poor Communities
The Biden administration is starting a new initiative this week to ensure that the poorest communities in the United States have access to billions in funding from the infrastructure bill to replace their crumbling wastewater, drinking water and storm water systems.

City of Wilmington America Rescue Plan Act funds (ARPA) are helping Cornerstone West CDC and its partners increase their efforts to eliminate racial disparities in borrowing which severely affect the ability of Black-owned City businesses to receive loans for business start-up or expansion.

Developer Continues to ‘Thrive' with Help of Brownfield Grants in Grandview, OH
The Grandview Crossing project was made possible in part by brownfield grants from the state of Ohio. The state recently authorized $192 million for 112 brownfield projects to help clean up contaminated properties, leading the way for future economic development. There are 1,300 apartment units, 100,000 square feet of retail, and a 140-key hotel planned.

The New Markets Tax Credits were established to provide an incentive for investment in low-income communities. The program can support solutions to some of the toughest challenges these areas are facing. By tapping into the NMTC incentive program as an economic development tool to improve areas such as employment, food accessibility and education, communities provide residents with greater access and equity.

U.S. DOT Announces $86.6M Loan to the Louisiana State Bond Commission for Infrastructure Projects
The U.S. Department of Transportation announced that its Build America Bureau has provided a low-interest loan for $86.6 million to the Louisiana State Bond Commission. The Bureau helps communities across the country reduce the costs of infrastructure projects by providing Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act loans, known as TIFIA loans, and other types of financing.

$13M in Tax Credits for Pennsylvania Farmers' Improving Water and Soil Quality
Secretary Russell Redding today announced the availability of $13 million in tax credits to Pennsylvania farmers for measures to improve soil and water quality. Tax credits through Pennsylvania's innovative conservation financing program, Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP), can be combined with other state funding to help grow a sustainable farm economy.
