EPA Announces $315M for Cleanup, Technical Assistance at Brownfield Sites
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced more than $315 million through the Investing in America Agenda to expedite the assessment and cleanup of brownfield sites. EPA selected 262 communities to receive 267 grants totaling more than $215 million in competitive EPA Brownfields funding through the Multipurpose, Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grant (MARC) programs.

Delaware County, PA Announces $1M Grant for Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund
The Delaware County Redevelopment Authority (DCRDA) Board will receive $1 million in Brownfields funds from the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Grant Program. The EPA's RLF Grants provide funding for loans or subgrants for community stakeholders to carry out cleanup and other activities at brownfield sites. DCRDA received the maximum possible award to launch the County's Revolving Loan Fund.
New York Department of State Offering $26M for Municipalities
The New York Department of State is offering more than $26 million in funding to municipalities for a variety of planning, revitalization, and efficiency programs. The five programs include Smart Growth Community Planning and Zoning, Countywide Resiliency Planning, Brownfield Opportunity Area, Local Waterfront Revitalization, and Local Government Efficiency.
EPA Awards $65M for Cleanup of Navajo Abandoned Uranium Mines
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded Tetra Tech the second Navajo Area Abandoned Uranium Mines Response, Assessment, and Evaluation Services (RAES) contract, worth $65 million, to address risks to public health and the environment from former mines on Navajo land. Under this contract, Tetra Tech will focus on providing technical support to EPA through all stages of work addressing abandoned Navajo uranium mines.
$3M For Downriver Community Conference Brownfield Cleanup in Michigan
In addition to the $13 million in U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funds already awarded, the Downriver Community Conference Brownfield Coalition Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) has been selected to receive this additional $3 million through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) because it has a high-performing RLF program with significantly depleted funds.
EPA Provides $11M in Brownfields Funding for 7 Alaska Projects
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced $11.8 million from President Biden's Investing in America Agenda to expedite the assessment and cleanup of seven brownfield sites in Alaska while advancing environmental justice. Alaska's communities will receive EPA Brownfields funding through the Multipurpose, Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grant programs as well as the Technical Assistance to Brownfields Communities Program.
