Butler County, OH Gets Another $2.5M to Eliminate Eyesores, Remediate Brownfields
Butler County, OH is receiving another $2.5 million cash infusion from the state to clear the way for redevelopment, similar to the windfall received to down the old Forest Fair Mall, which is a work in progress. Gov. Mike DeWine announced applications are open for a new round of the Ohio Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program, which provides $150 million in grants to raze dilapidated commercial and residential buildings.
Susquehanna Valley, PA to Benefit from $1M from Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund
Pennsylvania's Susquehanna Valley communities will benefit from a large non-road-related allocation of $1 million for a community-wide Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund Grant through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Tulsa, OK Wins $900K in Brownfield Funding
The city of Tulsa, Oklahoma has received a supplement grant of $900,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to support ongoing private sector redevelopment activities through its Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund.
U.S. EPA Presents Kansas City, MO With $3M Check for Brownfields Funding
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) selected the City of Kansas City to receive an additional $3 million for its Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This selection is in addition to the nearly $8.5 million in funds previously awarded to the city, which has successfully made loans or subgrants to 11 cleanup projects that are already completed or in progress.
U.S. EPA Announces $450M for Great Lakes Cleanup in Milwaukee, WI
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a roughly $450 million effort to remove almost 2 million cubic yards of contaminated sediments within the Milwaukee Estuary. That's the equivalent of 610 Olympic-sized swimming pools of contaminated sediments that will be dredged from the Milwaukee Harbor and three rivers in the surrounding area.
Huron County, MI Community Hub Project Receives $500K Grant
The Huron County Community Foundation (HCCF) received some good news, when the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) announced approval of $99.2 million in grant funding for projects across the state, through the Revitalization and Placemaking Program (RAP 2.0).
Tallulah, LA Receives $500K EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant
The City of Tallulah, LA has received $500,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to assess and redevelop abandoned properties. The grant money will go toward environmental site assessments. Once an inspection is conducted on the 25 potential sites, experts will identify a clean-up plan and speak with previous owners to learn the history of the building.
