Stern Brothers, Hawkins & Franzini Consulting Discuss Bonds
This session will focus on how this long-standing tool can be used today to provide a significant portion of a project's capital stack. In addition, the panel will explore redevelopment and the role that bonds and other development tools are playing in the redevelopment community.

Emerging Public-Private Partnership (P3) Financing Models
During this session, Scott Klein with BNY Mellon, Kevin O'Brien with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Christopher Paladino with New Brunswick Development Corporation will examine case studies in the development of energy and other infrastructure as we explore some targeted tactics for implementing a P3 component toward a successful project.

Accessing Capital in the "Financial Capital"
During this session, the Roundtable will explore the most innovative and effective access to capital tools being utilized by entrepreneurs and established companies in the region including revolving loan funds, seed/venture capital, guarantees and other effective debt instruments.

Randy Coburn, Maureen Hassett and Julian Adams Explore Tax Credits
New Markets Tax Credit programs are alive and well in New York and New Jersey. Paired with the federal NMTC program, this financing resource can make a difference in catalyzing business and real estate development. This session will explore how to access the state programs as well as look at the federal program's interaction with the state structure.

Unlock Energy Finance with the Green Bank and Morris Model
Development finance agencies in New York and New Jersey have significant capacity to support energy development, which is a key industry in the 21st century. This session will focus on programs, models, and case studies related to local financing support for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

Appalachian Regional Commission: Improving Economies & Lives
ARC initiatives include highway corridors; community water and sewer facilities, telecommunication, and other physical infrastructure; health, education, and human resource development; economic development programs; local capacity building; and leadership development.

A Greener Kind of P3
Portland is testing a new kind of public-private partnership to move an off-road bicycling park, known as Gateway Green, forward. If it's successful, it could drastically change how environmental projects are funded by states and localities.

This one-day event will feature a number of economic development finance experts and leaders from both states as they discuss new development finance tools, resources, authorities, and approaches and how these methods can move the region's economy forward. Topics to be discussed include bonds, tax credits, special assessment, targeted tools, revolving loan funds, energy, public-private partnerships and federal funding.

OIG SSBCI Audit Report: New Jersey

The Office of the Inspector General released their Audit Report on New Jersey's use of federal funds through Treasury's SSBCI. Circumstances in the audit caused OIG to recommend that Treasury provide states with guidance on how to remove withdrawn transactions from quarterly and annual reports.
