Amendments to CO Urban Renewal Law Could Limit Use of TIF
Lexology reports that a recent bill amending the state's Urban Renewal Law could complicate the approval of new TIF plans by municipalities. The bill is expected to reduce cities' and towns' appetite for future urban renewal projects and impact private developers who rely on TIF to finance public infrastructure.
CO P3 Completes First Phase of Ambitious Highway Widening
A $497 million expansion of US 36 from Denver to Boulder has been completed. According to the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) negotiated a 50-year P3, which will build and pay for the entire expansion.
New Tax Credit Program
The State of Colorado is introducing a new preservation tax credit that offers several benefits, including financial incentives for both residential and commercial properties. According to Pagosa Daily Post, tax credit projects generate jobs, fuel the economy, and preserve historic properties.

GOVERNING writes on CDFA's recent webcast on municipal credit ratings. Representatives from the Big Three credit rating agencies were guests on CDFA's webcast and provided the audience with insight of the rating industry.
