JEDA announced the issuance of a $20 million revenue note for Conway Medical Center. The revenue note will pay for medical equipment and information technology.

The South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center plans to build an additional vehicle testing facility on its campus. According to Greenville Online, SCTAC President Jody Bryson said SCTAC has a strong record of securing grants for economic development and is eligible for New Markets Tax Credits.

As a part of the USDA's commitment to strengthening rural economies, a state-by-state "Made in Rural America" report has been released for each state. Each state's factsheet highlights specific USDA investments in rural businesses, manufacturing, energy, water, and other infrastructure development.

The SC Department of Commerce awarded 19 organizations $2.6 million in funding. The funding was part of the SC Innovation Challenge and is used to further innovation, entrepreneurship and technology based economic development.

The Rite Aid Corporation plans to build a 900,000 square-foot distribution center in Spartanburg. According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the distribution center, will support 1000 Rite Aid Stores and employ about 600 people.
