Gov. Kasich Approves Ten Projects to Create 350 Jobs
Governor John Kasich has approved ten projects throughout the state that will create nearly 350 new jobs. The economic development proposals that Kasich approved are expected to bring $17.4 million in new payroll, and spur nearly $8.7 million in investment statewide.

Cincinnati Chamber Launches $1.7M GrowthBridge Fund
The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber's Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) has announced the launch of the L. Ross Love GrowthBridge Fund. The MBA is the Chamber's hallmark economic development initiative focused on growing sizeable minority firms, providing flexible debt capital to finance growth projects of established, highly-competitive, African American and Hispanic-owned firms in the region.

Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit Accepting Round 12 Apps
The application period for Round 12 of the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit program is now open. A total of $30 million in tax credit allocation is currently available for Round 12 applicants. Please note that applications must be submitted (not postmarked) to the Office of Energy and Redevelopment by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014.

House Bill Aims to Put End to JEDZ Option for Communities
Townships would lose the ability next year to ask voters to approve a new income-tax-generating zone under a bill that passed the Ohio House. The joint economic development zones are arrangements between townships and municipalities that allow the townships to share revenue from an income tax – a money-making option that townships aren't allowed to exercise on their own.

UM, OSU Team Up for High Tech Manufacturing Research
The institute will be led by the University of Michigan, Ohio-based manufacturing technology nonprofit EWI and The Ohio State University. More than seven universities, 17 non-industry members, and 30 companies – including Alcoa, Boeing, Honda, and General Electric – will participate in the collaboration.

Tax Credits Back Historic Shell, Banks Do the Rest
Huntington National Bank will finance tenant improvements and other project-related costs for the Victory Center development, while state and federal tax credits, provided financing to help complete the Core and Shell infrastructure. The $26.6 million project received a $4.2-million Historic Tax Credit Award from the State of Ohio in December 2011. The project will generate another projected $3.7 million in Federal Historic Tax Credits.
