GA Changes Investment Rules for Water Projects

Augusta Approves 'Slum' Designation to Access Bonds for Municipal Building Renovation
The Augusta Commission voted 7-1 in favor to declare the central business district a "slum" to borrow money to renovate the Municipal Building. The designation permits the Commission to issue bonds to finance the renovations.

Charter School Seeking Bonds To Finance New School
The nonprofit foundation that sponsors two state charter schools, one in Cherokee, is moving forward with plans for a bond issue totaling $27.3M. The Georgia Charter Educational Foundation (GCEF) unanimously voted in favor of the bond during an Aug. 8 teleconference.
