MI Dept. of Talent and Economic Development Launched
A new Department of Talent and Economic Development (TED) has been officially launched. According to Economic Development HQ, TED combines MEDC, the Strategic Fund, the State Housing Development Authority, and newly created Talent Investment Agency.

Michigan Angel Fund Awards $1.7M to Arborlight
Arborlight receives investment from the Michigan Angel Fund of $1.7M. According to MLive, the Ann Arbor-based technology company received the investment for their award-winning LightWell product.

Brownfield Gets New Life with $53M Investment
According to Crain's Detroit Business, the former McLouth Steel Corporation plant in Gibraltar will be utilizing brownfield financing to invest $53M to upgrade the plant and create new jobs for the region.

Grand Rapids Gets $1M DEQ Grant to Clean up Brownfield
The city of Grand Rapids has received a $1M brownfield grant to clean up the former Grand Rapids Press site. MLive reports Michigan State University plans to build an $85M biomedical research center on the site.
