U.S. Treasury Report Highlights American Rescue Plan Act on Second Anniversary
To mark the second anniversary of the American Rescue Plan (ARP), the U.S. Department of the Treasury released a report with new data illustrating the extent to which this funding supported both immediate pandemic recovery and long-term economic growth. The ARP catalyzed investments in community development that will extend well beyond the deployment of federal resources and laid the foundation for other historic investments in our nation's economic future.

Two Los Angeles, CA Airports Receive $60M Under Bipartisan Infrastructure Law
The Los Angeles International and Hollywood Burbank have received $31 million and $30 million, respectively, from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The $31 million for LAX is earmarked for the terminal roadways project that's part of the $5.5 billion ground access overhaul now well under way. Other overhaul components include a $2 billion automated people mover project nearing completion and a $1 billion consolidated car rental facility.

White House Budget Proposal Includes $175B for Affordable Housing
Triggered by the pandemic, housing prices in cities and counties across the United States have skyrocketed. Between the fourth quarters of 2021 and 2022, house prices rose 8.4 percent, according to data from the Federal Housing Finance Agency. The latest budget proposal from the White House seeks to curb those rising costs and provide low-income residents with a path to homeownership through a more than $175 billion investment.

Nebraska Enterprise Fund Targets Areas of Need with SSBCI Funds
The Nebraska Enterprise Funds is about to launch a new initiative with State Small Business Credit Initiative funds that will focus primarily on Social, Economic, and Disadvantaged Individual (SEDI) business owners. This includes those subjected to racial or ethnic prejudices or who've had diminished access to credit due to their gender, veteran status, limited English proficiency, disability, Tribal membership, or long-term residence in a rural community or an economically disadvantaged area.

Senators Introduce Bipartisan Hydrogen Infrastructure Package
U.S. Senators Chris Coons (D-Delaware) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) on March 2 reintroduced their bipartisan Hydrogen Infrastructure Initiative, a package of four bills to support the adoption of hydrogen in energy-intensive sectors. The Hydrogen Infrastructure Initiative is comprised of four pieces of legislation that provide targeted support to high-value end-use applications of hydrogen and the buildout of infrastructure needed to transport, store and deliver hydrogen. 

St. Louis, MO Leaders Announce 'Economic Justice Accelerator'
St. Louis leaders recently announced a new multi-million dollar "Economic Justice Accelerator" to attract private capital in support of efforts to close the wealth gap. The city's strategic plan steers support to specific neighborhoods, targeting a racial divide in wealth and income, where Black workers earn half what their white counterparts make and have 10% as much wealth as a white households, according to an 87-page action plan published by SLDC.

Municipals were little changed Tuesday in secondary trading as the $1.25 billion deal from the New York City Transitional Finance Authority took focus in the primary. Days after the Silicon Valley Bank collapse, U.S. Treasuries reversed course and sold off on the heels of the most recent inflation report. Equities ended up.
