As a part of the USDA's commitment to strengthening rural economies, a state-by-state "Made in Rural America" report has been released for each state. Each state's factsheet highlights specific USDA investments in rural businesses, manufacturing, energy, water, and other infrastructure development.

Joint Funding Allows for Rebuilt Road with MDOT Assistance
An automotive firm's decision to expand within Macomb Co. triggered the $1.6M in state Transportation Development Funds for Macomb. The grant came about through a complex collaboration among the Macomb Co. Dept. of Planning, Yanfeng in Harrison Twp., MDOT and the Macomb Co. Dept. of Roads.
Unsuccessful TIF District Searching for New Funding
According to MLive, Saginaw Downtown Development Authority TIF property values have steadily decreased since it was created in 2010. That means the TIF has not collected any revenue.
Alpena, MI gets State Approval for Brownfield Incentive
The Michigan Strategic Fund approved $1.2 million in local and school tax capture for brownfield activities in downtown Alpena including a new kind of Holiday Inn Express according to MLive.
