Loveland Luring Artists to Spur Urban Redevelopment
According to US News, more than $5 million in Colorado Housing and Finance Authority tax credits and grants have encouraged downtown revitalization to attract artists in the area.
Colorado Considers Crowdfunding-to-Own
A Colorado state house committee will consider a bill that would allow businesses to raise capital through equity crowdfunding from both accredited and non-accredited investors. According to 9 News, non-accredited investors would be able to buy shares in small and emerging businesses through equity crowdsourcing.
Flood-Damaged Road Repairs Now Estimated $590M
State and local officials are finding money for recovery repairs from the flood in 2013. For example, according to the Denver Post, Boulder County voters passed a flood recovery tax to generate $9 million per year.
Steamboat Springs School Board Considers Billing City for URA Harm
The Steamboat Springs School Board will vote on whether or not to ask the city for $148,000 in restitution. According to the Steamboat Today, the district has lost about $600,000 in tax money to the Base Area Reinvestment Plan since 2010.
State Audit Endorses Colorado Agency's First P3
According to a report from the state auditor's office, the new P3 for Colorado's U.S. Interstate 36 has provided the best overall value for taxpayers.
