USDA Announces Loans and Grants for Rural Development
Since the Farm Bill is renewing funding for the Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program, Imperial Valley News reminds readers that Mid-Columbia Economic Development District in Maupin, OR and California FarmLink, a statewide non-profit serving limited-resource farmers, benefitted previously.

Startup PDX Challenge Offers $15K Grants for WMBEs
According to the Oregonian, the Portland Development Commission is once again offering a $15K prize along with free premises for up to six promising startups. This year, the funding will be aimed at businesses owned by veterans, women and minorities.

Sherman County Renewable Energy Loan Program Expanded
The Citizen-Reporter in Sherman County, OR advertises that following inquiries, the Court who administers the no-interest loan program is expanding its availability to farms and businesses.

TIF and Tax Credits Back Historic Old Town Railroad Hotel
A Portland agency plans to redevelop a historic railroad hotel in Old Town/Chinatown into a modern housing complex with help from a $6M TIF and state and federal tax credits for historic preservation and affordable housing, as reported by the Portland Business Journal.
