The CDFA Minority Capital Loan Guarantee Program is a 10-year, $18 million loan guarantee program, supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, to help development finance agencies in the United States deliver capital in a more equitable manner. CDFA is now accepting proposals from those interested in participating in the program. The University of Alaska's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program announced that it would be deploying $59M in SSBCI funds to help drive private sector investments into Alaska's small businesses through the creation of a $32M loan guarantee program, a $15.9M loan participation program, a $10M equity investment program, and a $2M loan collateral program. To kick off the program, the Alaska SBDC released its $10M Equity Fund RFP.

A program that would give grants to small businesses looking to revitalize the LaSalle Street corridor passed a critical hurdle. The program would direct $5 million in tax-increment finance dollars to jumpstart a Small Business Improvement Fund for storefronts along Chicago's LaSalle Street corridor in the Loop.

With support from the USDA, CDFA is offering free technical assistance to rural communities that experienced a natural disaster in 2018/2019 and are working to rebuild their community facilities. Selected communities will receive one on-site visit, a roadmap with financing recommendations and potential next steps, and ongoing support to pursue funding from the USDA Community Facilities Program. San Antonio City Council approved the creation of the Lone Oak Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) – a designation for areas that incentivizes development by reimbursing a portion of collected property taxes, without which development would not occur.

Global law firm Reed Smith announced that it has advised North Bridge, a sustainable financing lender and servicer, on a $42 million commercial property assessed clean energy loan to HB Capital Group, as part of a renovation of the historic Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. This marks the largest C-PACE transaction in Florida to date.

The Illinois EPA announced $4.1M in funding to the City of Sycamore to replace lead service lines in the community. The funding is provided through the Illinois EPA's State Revolving Fund, which provides low-interest loan funding for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. The City will not have to repay $4M of the total loan through existing loan rules.
