CDFA Coalition Submits $2B Clean Investment Accelerator for DFAs Proposal
CDFA and our coalition partners submitted a proposal to create the $2 billion Clean Investment Accelerator for Development Finance Agencies (DFA Accelerator) under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). The DFA Accelerator will launch a six-year program to serve a community lender network to build DFAs' capacity to fund projects that reduce or avoid emissions of greenhouse gas and other air pollutants in low-income and disadvantaged communities.

Connecticut Green Bank Looks to Expand Solar MAP Program
Affordable multifamily properties can now access the benefits of solar for their residents, thanks to Connecticut's expansion of the definition of a residential customer as it relates to solar energy generation through Public Act No. 21-48. To better serve these families, the Connecticut Green Bank plans to expand its Solar Marketplace Assistance Program to help fill the market gap and usher in more projects in this sector.

Massachusetts Unveils $4B Affordable Homes Act to Increase Production, Lower Costs
The Healey-Driscoll Administration unveiled a $4 billion plan to jumpstart the production of homes and make housing more affordable across Massachusetts. The Affordable Homes Act, a comprehensive package of spending, policy, and programmatic actions, represents the largest proposed investment in housing in the state's history while simultaneously striking at the root causes of housing unaffordability and making progress on the state's climate goals.
Wicomico, MD Issues $11.7M in Tax-Exempt and Taxable Bonds for Schools and Airport
Wicomico County, MD sold $4.1 million in general obligation and tax-exempt bonds. This bond sale will finance several major projects in the county. The county also sold $7.6 million in taxable bonds to finance certain projects at the Salisbury-Wicomico Regional Airport. The bond issue will be used for a renovation/addition project at Mardela High & Middle School and economic development – projects at the airport and other capital project needs.
USDA's Conservation Reserve Program Provides $1.8B for Climate-Smart Ag in 2023
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued more than $1.77 billion so far in 2023 to agricultural producers and landowners through its Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), a critical piece of the Department's efforts to support climate-smart agriculture and forestry on working lands. CRP's more than 667,000 participants received payments from USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) for their voluntary conservation efforts on more than 23 million acres of private land.
Mobile, AL Groups to Administer $2.8M Capital Readiness Program SSBCI Grant
The Mobile Area Chamber Foundation and the Mobile Chamber, along with Innovation Portal and the University of South Alabama, will receive a $2.8 million grant through the Minority Business Development Agency's Capital Readiness Program, a part of the State Small Business Credit Initiative. This grant will enable the launch of the Mobile Capital Access Network, which will deliver programs that benefit 2,200 minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses.
