EPA Launches New Program With $1B in Loans Available for Water Infrastructure Projects
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the availability of approximately $1 billion in credit assistance for water infrastructure projects under the new Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) program.

Obama Signs WIIN Act Authorizing Millions in Drinking Water Funding
President Barack Obama signed the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act into law. The bill authorizes $170 million for communities facing drinking water emergencies, including funding for Flint, Mich., to recover from the lead contamination in its drinking water system.

USDA Announces $252M Available for Regional Conservation Partnership Program
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today invited potential conservation partners, including private industry, non-government organizations, Indian tribes, state and local governments, water districts, and universities to submit project applications for federal funding through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).

The award will be used to design, permit, and construct an open-water, grid-connected national wave energy testing facility. The facility will support innovations in wave energy technologies capable of harnessing the significant wave energy resources along United States coastlines.

CA to Receive Part of $225M for Water Projects
The $225 million in funding will be shared among 88 projects, from California's Central Valley to centuries-old irrigation systems in northern New Mexico and thousands of square miles of fragmented streams in Maine. More than half of the projects specifically address drought and water quality.

PACE Debuts in KC to Close Funding Gap in a Redevelopment Project
A new financing tool, Property Assessed Clean Energy funding, is helping redevelopers convert a former paper warehouse in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District to apartments. The Walnut Terrace apartments will be at 1721 Walnut St. KEM Studio.
