Uptown Studio and Storage has become the first project to receive C-PACE financing in the City of Memphis and the second in the State of Tennessee. The project has received $2.3 million in C-PACE to eventually convert the former Greyhound bus station at 525 N. Main St. into a mixed-use site.

A bill to make New Mexico's renewable energy office permanent advanced through the State House of Representatives recently and is awaiting further action in the Senate. In 2019, the Office of Renewable Energy was created in the New Mexico State Land Office to focus on renewable power developments throughout the state, a key aspect of the State's efforts toward its goal of 100 percent carbon-free energy by 2045.

CDFA was honored to serve on the advisory group for a new report - Soil Wealth Areas: Place-based Financing for Conservation, Rural Communities, and Regenerative Agriculture - a new model for special purpose financing districts that can facilitate more investment in regenerative agriculture, enhance conservation, and support resilient rural economies. The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund awarded $194 million in financial assistance awards to 252 CDFIs through the Community Development Financial Institutions Program and Native American CDFI Assistance Program. These awards will allow CDFIs to build on their capacity and expand lending and investment activity in underserved communities.

The U.S. Department of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has provided the first public notice of its Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) program. Nearly $27 billion will be made available through two grant competitions that will fund clean energy and clean air investments. The two competitions are expected to launch this summer.

The North Wenatchee Tax Increment Financing district is now a reality after approval from the city council. The district encompasses the North Wenatchee redevelopment area, which was damaged by the 2015 Sleepy Hollow fire and includes buildings purchased by the city. The city plans to use the revenue from increasing property taxes within that district and funnel it towards neighboring public infrastructure projects.
