Cedar Rapids, IA Schools Proposes $220M Bond Referendum
A proposed $220 million bond referendum in the Cedar Rapids Community School District would raise property taxes if approved — but would keep rates assessed for district schools on par with those already levied by several other school districts in the region. The Cedar Rapids school board is expected to approve a resolution ordering a referendum after receiving the number of signatures required to take the question to voters.

Lancaster County, PA Approves Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy Program
The Lancaster County Commissioners approved the Lancaster County Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program. The program, authorized by the state legislature, will assist owners of commercial, industrial, non-profit, and agricultural properties in securing financing for upgrades to their infrastructure. By utilizing C-PACE, property owners can obtain low-cost, long-term financing for energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, indoor air quality, and resiliency projects.

U.S. EPA Announces Availability of $4.6B in Competitive Climate Pollution Reduction Grants
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) launched $4.6 billion in competitive grants to fund state, local, and Tribal programs and policies that cut climate pollution, advance environmental justice, and deploy clean energy solutions across the country. The Climate Pollution Reduction Grants competitions will enable community-driven solutions to the climate crisis, helping to accelerate America's clean energy transition.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Money Helps Kansas Launch $200M Fund for Infrastructure
Kansas announced the launch of a $200 million Build Kansas Fund to accelerate transformative community infrastructure projects. The Fund will provide matching dollars to Kansas communities for infrastructure projects approved under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and will invest $200 million directly into Kansas communities to support projects that include water, transportation, energy, cybersecurity, and broadband through Fiscal Year 2027.

New Revolving Loan Fund to Develop Meat Production in North Dakota
To help improve rural communities in North Dakota, the Rural Development Finance Corporation is launching a revolving loan fund to establish more meat and poultry processing centers. The company received a $10 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to work with start-up facilities by providing low-interest loans for meat production.

U.S. Department of Energy Makes $400M Available for Energy Efficiency Improvement
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released program guidance and opened applications for $400 million in formula funding to states and territories for adopting and implementing building energy codes that reduce utility bills, increase efficiency, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.  Funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, states can now access this funding for the adoption and implementation of the latest building energy codes and zero energy codes for cleaner, more efficient buildings.

Tennessee Announces Five New Lenders for SSBCI Capital Access Program
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced today five new lenders to participate in LendTN, a Fund Tennessee program. Nearly $47 million has been allocated through the Fund Tennessee program which will provide equitable access to capital for small businesses and entrepreneurs across Tennessee. The program is funded by the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI).
