CDFA and the Ohio Economic Development Association are pleased to announce the launch of a new partnership to advance the CDFA Ohio Financing Roundtable. This unique state/national partnership brings together the development finance and economic development industries in Ohio.
CDFA Ohio Financing Roundtable Legislative Briefing Call
The Ohio General Assembly is considering two pieces of legislation concerning changes to Ohio's tax increment finance and state new markets tax credit programs. In this briefing, Scott Ziance with Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease discusses H.B. 198 and Mark Barbash with Finance Fund discusses H.B. 478.
14 Companies Expected to Invest $148M, Impacting 5,900 Jobs
Governor John Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 14 projects set to create 1,095 jobs and retain 4,823 jobs statewide. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in $48.9M in new payroll, and spur more than $148.4M in investment across Ohio.
Advocates of Ohio's Green-Energy Law Tally Savings
The Columbus Dispatch reports that green-energy advocates say the public record shows that energy-efficiency programs, which could be changed or eliminated as a result of a legislative proposal, have created savings that far exceed the costs.
Toledo Officials Defend Joint Economic Development Zones
Officials from Toledo met with the chairman of the Ohio Senate committee considering a bill that could strip the city of the authority to create Joint Economic Development Zones with other local governments according to the Toledo Blade.
