Maryland Invests $500K of SSBCI Seed Funds in Digital Infrastructure Company
TEDCO, Maryland's economic engine for technology companies, announced a recent $500,000 Seed Fund investment into Flexnode, Inc., a digital infrastructure company. TEDCO's Seed Funds is made possible by the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) and invests in companies that show promise of becoming venture-fundable companies or are companies that, through a seed investment, will be sustainable through customer revenue, follow-on funding, or other forms of corporate venture.

Texas Launches Capital Access and Loan Guarantee Programs with SSBCI Funds
Texas announced the opening of the Texas Small Business Credit Initiative (TSBCI) and will administer two programs: a Capital Access Program and a Loan Guarantee Program. Both are open to enroll new loans made to eligible new and existing Texas businesses with 499 or fewer employees. From October 9 through December 9, 2023, the TSBCI web portal will open to accept applications from financial institutions interested in participating in the program.
Michigan Announces Nine Recipients of SSBCI Technical Assistance Awards
Michigan announced that nine organizations in Michigan will receive $5.2 million in federal grants from the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Technical Assistance (TA) grant program to better support small businesses with technical assistance such as legal, accounting, and financial advisory services.
Tennessee Announces Five New Lenders for SSBCI Capital Access Program
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced five new lenders to participate in LendTN, a Fund Tennessee program. Nearly $47 million has been allocated through the Fund Tennessee program, which will provide equitable access to capital for small businesses and entrepreneurs across Tennessee. The program is funded by the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI).
