Oregon BEST Rolls Out Grant Assistance Program
Oregon Built Environment and Sustainable Technologies Center's SBIR/STTR Support Center spells out ways that developing companies can procure the $2.5 billion or so available in small business innovation research and small business technology transfer grants. The idea is that Oregon companies that collect the grants can more quickly develop new businesses.

State Senate Seeks to Raise Cap on Small Business Loans
Senate Bill 1563 deals with a program called the Entrepreneurial Development Loan Fund, which is run by Business Oregon, the state agency tasked with growing Oregon's private sector. It provides low-interest loans to small or start-up businesses around the state that traditional banks would likely not lend to.

Business Oregon Fosters New Call Center
The state economic development agency, Business Oregon, helped with the project in two ways: It directed $50,000 from the governor's strategic reserve fund for building improvements, and it's Infrastructure Finance Authority provided $30,000 through its Special Public Works Fund to extend fiber where the call center is located.
