Sen. Wyden Highlights Success of New Markets Tax Credit
Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) backed the New Markets Tax Credit program in a statement highlighting Albina Head Start, which in partnership with National Community Fund and United Fund Advisors was able to expand services at five locations using the credits.
States Try to Make it Easier to Raise Money with Crowdfunding
To date, thirteen states plus D.C. have passed laws or regulations allowing startups to use crowdfunding to raise money from investors with less red tape than companies with shareholders, according to GOVERNING.
Multnomah County, OR Approves $95M Bond for Senior Housing
According to the Oregonian, Multnomah County approved a conduit issuance for Mirabella Portland, an upscale retirement home. The $95M will refinance the original variable rate construction bonds to a low fixed rate.
USDA Opens $900K for Value-Added Oregon Ag Entrepreneurs
The USDA announced $25M to help 247 businesses nationwide, including nine in Oregon, expand their operations and create new products to market. The funding is being provided through USDA Rural Development's Value-Added Producer Grant program.
