City of Bakersfield Eyes TIF as Redevelopment Successor
City officials in Bakersfield, CA have a new plan to stimulate development, reports the Bakersfield Californian. As a way to replace the city's Redevelopment Agency, the Economic Opportunity Area Plan would use tax increment financing in four areas east of Highway 99, in the southeast, far southeast, northeast and downtown.
TIF Created to Help Revitalize Timkin Plant Site in Columbus, OH
The City of Columbus has created a Tax Increment Financing district on pieces of land near the old Timkin plant site, reports WCBE. The 7.1 million dollar package of public subsidies will be used to build a nearly 37 million dollar manufacturing and warehouse facility.
