Partnerships Bring Rural Health Care to SD
The Faulkton Area Medical Center (FAMC) has successfully leveraged $5 million in loans and loan guarantees to build a Critical Access Hospital. The South Dakota's Rural Development office teamed up with various organizations to bring together providers and funders.

Rural America Matters: Water Infrastructure Essential for Economic Growth
According to 3 BL Media, the Farm Credit supports rural communities in a number of ways, including providing financing for water and waste water treatment projects. Without the capacity to deliver safe water, communities can't grow, businesses can't expand, and opportunities for new employers to revitalize rural areas are lost.

Revitalize Main Street Supports Local Economies, Schools
The Oregon Revitalize Main Street Act creates a state Historic Rehabilitation Fund in which a rebate is made to owners who restore historic commercial buildings. According to the East Oregonian, 35 states have implemented similar incentives to generate economic development locally.

SSBCI to Help Restore Historic AL Hotel
State and federal officials are attempting to give new life to a historic hotel in Alabama, according to The Tallassee Tribune. Officials hope to use USDA, SSBCI, and HUD funds to restore the damaged site.

Ohio Bill Incentivizes Private Investment in Agriculture-Focused Businesses
According to Journal News, a new Ohio House Bill modeled after the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Business Investment program is designed to provide incentives for private investments into agriculture-focused and rural small businesses.

$30M Available to Food Entrepreneurs, Ag Producers
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is making $30 million available to farmers, ranchers, and food entrepreneurs through the Value-Added Producer Grant program. According to the Daily Journal Online, there has been significant progress to expand access to rural credit, develop new markets for rural-made products, and invest in infrastructure.
