New JEDA Bonds Refinance Expansion at Wesley Commons in SC
Wesley Commons is using a $27.11 million bond issue through the South Carolina Jobs-Economic Development Authority (JEDA) to lower the financing costs of prior expansions at its Greenwood retirement community.

EPA Awards $1.15M to SC to Protect Water Quality
ATLANTA – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a $1,156,250 grant to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) to help protect human health and the environment.

Communities in SC Receive Funding for Water Infrastructure Improvements
Several communities in SC will get a share of more than $13 million in grant funds for water, sewer and drainage infrastructure projects. The funds are coming from the S.C. Rural Infrastructure Authority.

SC Enacts Tax Credit Which is Linked to Improved Outcomes for Children
The South Carolina General Assembly recently enacted a nonrefundable state Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), benefiting working families. This credit passed through inclusion in H 3516, the South Carolina Infrastructure and Economic Development Reform Act, informally known as the Roads Bill.

SC Loses Fight to Get Nuclear Tax Credit in Gov. Spending Bill
The budget agreement worked out in Congress disappointed every member of the South Carolina delegation after a highly desired nuclear power plant tax credit was left out. At issue is a credit Congress created in 2005 to incentivize nuclear power production. But it gave plants a 2020 deadline to complete their work in order to qualify. 

Aiken County, SC, Council Members Pass Incentives for BAE Systems
BAE Systems, Inc. has announced it is expanding its Aiken County operations and the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project.
