Marble Falls, TX Issues Intent on $7.9M Bond Package
The Marble Fallls City Council has set its course toward issuance of $7.9 million to fund city utility projects.
Waco Seeks TIRZ Funds to Clean up Brazos Riverfront for Development
The city of Waco will ask for money from the downtown Tax Increment Financing Zone to clean up its prime riverfront and get it ready for development. The city has chosen Catalyst Urban Development of Dallas to prepare a master plan for the site that could include residential, restaurant, retail, office and hotel development, as well as a riverside park.
Dallas Offers $3M to Grocery Stores Willing to Open in 'Food Desert'
The city of Dallas has officially announced it has at least $3 million available to anyone willing to develop or build "one or more high quality grocery stores" in southern Dallas -- or, more specifically, in a "southern Dallas food desert." The $3 million will come from the city's P3 Program.
Council Approves $42.8M Midland Center Project
The Midland City Council on Tuesday has approved a $42.8 million Midland Center project. The project includes about 20,000 square feet in convention space and a 6,000-square-foot ballroom. It will be paid for by hotel-motel taxes currently in place.
Hewitt, TX Approves $3.4M CO for Street Improvements
The Hewitt City Council has approved a $3.395 million certificate of obligation for street-improvement projects. A large part of the obligation will cover completion of the 30-year-old Old Temple Road, and 93 percent of the bond would go toward street-related improvements.
Harlingen, TX to Fund Convention Center with TIRZ
Harlingen, TX officials will use $1.7 million in property tax revenue generated from three tax increment financing reinvestment zones to help fund a $14 million convention center, according to The Brownsville Herald.
