Fitch Ratings agency on Monday said Snyder's proposal to contribute $350 million in state aid toward Detroit's unfunded pension liability "could establish a troubling precedent" as it places pensioners ahead of bondholders.
Washtenaw County OKs Notice of Intent for PACE Program
The Washtenaw County board of commissioners has taken another step towards creating a countywide Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program to help owners of commercial (not residential) properties pay for energy improvements by securing financing from commercial lenders and repaying the loan through voluntary special assessments.
State PAB Volume Caps Jump for 2014
The Bond Buyer reports that states will be allowed to issue 5.2% more of private activity bonds in 2014, freeing money for projects that would otherwise be ineligible for tax-exempt financing. Included are graphics demonstrating the volume cap changes from 2013 to 2014 by state.
