City Council Moves Forward with TIRZ in Jersey Village Crossing, TX
The TIRZ will allow the city to take tax revenue generated in Jersey Village Crossing and place it into a separate fund that can be used for structural improvements and enhanced infrastructure in that area. It will exist for a period of 30 years.
TX Requests Federal Disaster Assistance for Tom Green County
Gov. Abbott has asked the SBA to declare Tom Green County a disaster area following the severe storms that impacted the area. The Governor is asking the SBA to make long-term, low-interest-rate physical disaster home and business loans and economic injury disaster loans available.
TX Incentives Bring Merck IT Hub to Austin
Governor Greg Abbott recently announced that Merck is locating its newest IT Hub in Austin, Texas. The pharmaceutical giant made the announcement after the governor's office announced it would provide the company a $6 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund. The grant comes on top of a 10-year, $856,000 city tax incentives package approved by the Austin City Council in April.
City of Weatherford Using TIRZ for Transportation
The City of Weatherford detailed its transportation plans for Weatherford ISD recently and asked for the school district's input and help in planning for future road projects. City of Weatherford Director of Capital Transportation Projects Terry Hughes also described some of the ongoing transportation projects in the Weatherford Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone.
CDFA Report Provides New Ideas to Redevelop Hotel Grim
CDFA's free brownfield technical assistance program has assisted the Hotel Grim in Texarkana, Texas by providing a report highlighting five strategies that can be utilized to support redevelopment of the site.
Bonds May Support Fredericksburg, TX Sports Park Expansion
Fredericksburg City Council approved preliminary cost estimates for an Oak Crest Sports Park expansion, which are tabbed at $12.6 million.
