Contaminated Former Gas Station Site Near Ann Arbor, MI Could See New Development
The environmental cleanup of a former gas station just outside Ann Arbor is part of developers' plans to bring more commercial space to the property that has sat vacant for nearly a decade. A redevelopment proposal for the 1-acre property at 4025 Packard Road would bring 7,000 square feet of new, multi-tenant commercial space, including a drive-thru connecting with an existing retail building to the north and new parking.

Significant New Clean Energy and Climate Act Becomes Law in Massachusetts
On August 11, 2022, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker signed into law An Act driving climate policy forward. After months of heavy legislative activity involving a wide range of stakeholders in the clean energy and technology industries, the Massachusetts legislature combined the bill focused on expanding offshore wind energy and transmission development with another that covered a wide range of climate policies. 

USDA New Resource Guides for Tribal Governments, Citizens, and Organizations
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Tribal Relations has released the newest editions of the USDA Resource Guide for American Indians and Alaska Natives 2022 and the USDA Native Youth Resource Guide 2022. Each of these guides provides valuable information to Indian Country and can serve as a roadmap of USDA resources and services available to tribal governments, citizens, and organizations.

Wells Fargo Issues $2B Inclusive Communities and Climate Bond
Wells Fargo has announced the issuance of its second Inclusive Communities and Climate Bond, a $2 billion bond that will finance projects and programs supporting housing affordability, economic opportunity, renewable energy, and clean transportation. Five broker-dealers whose owners include people of color, women, and service-disabled veterans joined Wells Fargo Securities, LLC to serve as bookrunners for the issuance.

Charlotte, NC Seeks Approval for $1B for Sewer and Water Projects
The City of Charlotte hopes to issue $500 million in bond anticipation notes for the city to obtain short-term funding over the next two years. The notes will be paid off later with long-term bonds and the funds would pay for an extension of existing water and sewer lines, rehabilitation of water and wastewater treatment plants, new water and sewer mains, and equipment.

Chesterfield, MO Moves Toward Subsidies for $2.5B in Projects
The city of Chesterfield will convene a Tax Increment Financing Commission to examine tax incentives for public infrastructure, paving the way for a series of massive projects that would remake the city with $2.5 billion in development. PGAV recommended the city create a Special Business District taxing district to provide funds to maintain public infrastructure funded by a TIF.

Inflation Reduction Act Will Deliver $19.5B in Conservation Funding to Support Climate-Smart Agriculture
The USDA welcomed the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, which will deliver $19.5B in new conservation funding to support climate-smart agriculture. This funding will bolster the new steps that USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service announced to improve opportunities for nutrient management.
