10 SUNY Campuses Investing $80M in Energy Efficiency
New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced a partnership between the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and the State University of New York (SUNY) to undertake energy efficiency measures at 10 SUNY campuses that will save the university system $3.5 million each year and contribute to cleaner communities.
New Jersey EDA Provided $1.2B to Projects in 2013
According to the EDA, this investment helped the funded projects leverage more than $2.6 billion in additional public and private investments. It also supported the retention of more than 35,000 jobs, including some 5,200 that may have otherwise been relocated elsewhere.
Innovative Financing Program Launches for NY State Energy Projects
The Energy Improvement Corporation (EIC), a New York State public benefit corporation now offers low-cost, long-term financing to commercially owned buildings undergoing energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades.
Incentives Watch: Practitioner Spells Out the Upside of GrowNJ
In this interview, Daniel Effron, a tax partner at accounting firm Marcum LLP in New York City, discusses some of the opportunities created by the revamped GrowNJ program. While the revamped credit regime is unlikely to attract out-of-state businesses, he says it will likely spur economic development by extending the benefits to more businesses through lowering the eligibility thresholds and broadening the scope of eligible geographic locations.
