WEDC Grant Program Supports Minority Businesses
Grants from the WEDC Minority Business Development Program will go to five organizations, The Business Council and Wisconsin Chambers of Commerce for Africans, American Indians, Hispanics and Hmongs. These organizations can use the funds to help startup minority businesses obtain loans.

New Madison Housing Development TIF Rejected
The city was preparing to deliver about $2 million in tax incremental financing (TIF) to cover a public space, but the city attorney's office determined the proposed neighborhood center was not eligible for TIF support under state law. The project will still receive $4.8 million in housing tax credits.

WEDC Revokes Performance Tax Credits for 5 Companies
Last week, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation staff submitted a Tax Credit Revocation Report to the agency's board of directors. Five companies must return portions of tax credits awarded in past years to create jobs.

WEDC Entrepreneur Pilot Program Draws Interest
The pilot program will provide grants between $10,000 and $100,000 to nonprofit organizations and communities for activities and projects that promote entrepreneurship and deliver key services and resources to Wisconsin entrepreneurs.

$7.2M WHEFA Bond Financing Helps Madison Country Day School
Bond financing facilitated by WHEFA will be used to help Madison Country Day School refinance an interim taxable loan used for the construction and equipping of a 21,000 square foot addition to house middle and high school classrooms, a music wing, and areas for academics.
