Cedar Rapids Projects Receive $2.6M in Tax Credits
Four Cedar Rapids projects are among 20 approved for the Brownfield/Grayfield Redevelopment Tax Credit Program Friday by the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The four projects received $2.6 million in tax credits, which is about 25 percent of the $10 million awarded.

WI Colbert Packaging Receives $850K Job Creation Tax Credit
Colbert Packaging Corp., which is based in Lake Forest, Ill., will relocate its flexographic packaging and warehousing from northern Illinois to Kenosha and ultimately bring more than 100 jobs to Wisconsin. The company is receiving an aid package from state and local entities that could total up to $1.6 million.

Empire State Development Announce 1000th Application for Film Tax Credit
Empire State Development (ESD) today announced the Governor's Office of Motion Picture and Television Development recently reached a milestone with 1,000 applications for the state's film production tax credit received since 2011.

Aurora IL Historic Hospital Renovation Nears Completion
Formerly St. Charles Hospital, the historic Art Deco building is being converted to modern senior housing as part of a $24 million redevelopment that began in February 2016. The balance of the project's development cost was covered by a combination of federal historic tax credits, low-income housing tax credits allocated by the state and private financing.

Historic Tax Credits to Help Fund Seattle Asian Art Museum Renovation
Funding for the $49 million dollar project will come from a mixture of public and private funds. Up to $21 million will come from the city of Seattle, as the Asian Art Museum structure is owned by the city. Another $5 million will come from Historic Rehabilitation tax credits. This leaves $23 million for the museum to raise privately.

Sen. Peters Cosponsors Historic Tax Credit Bill
U.S. Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) announced that he has cosponsored bipartisan legislation to encourage economic development by making common-sense changes and enhancements to the federal Historic Tax Credit (HTC).

Energy Storage Technologies Want Same Tax Credits as Wind and Solar
Boosters of energy storage technologies want their sector to get the same tax credits that the federal government extends to the wind and solar industries. Qualifying energy storage technologies such as batteries, thermal energy storage and regenerative fuel cells would get a 30% investment tax credit.

PA State Historic Tax Credit Program is Highly Successful
Dozens of historic buildings in Pennsylvania have been saved thanks to a tax credit program established by the commonwealth in 2012. The Department of Community and Economic Development has awarded applicants tax credits totaling $3 million. The credits have ranged from $13,000 to $500,000, depending on the size, need and impact of the project.

New Tax Credit Will Support Pittsburgh Waterfront Development
In recent years, projects backed by public-private investment have turned to making the Steel City's riversides havens for recreation and leisure. Now, some redevelopment boosters hope a new tax credit will encourage financiers to invest more in waterfronts throughout Pennsylvania.  

CO Offers $12M in Incentives to Companies with High-Paying Jobs
Colorado Economic Development Commission members approved more than $12 million in job-growth incentives for six different companies, including several whose average salary would exceed $100,000 if they were to accept the tax credits and grow their work force in Colorado.

This report is a list of Vermont's "Downtown Sales Tax Reallocation" projects as well as tax credit projects. Federal and state rehabilitation tax credits help to stimulate private investment, create jobs, restore historic buildings and jump start the revitalization seen in Vermont's Designated Downtowns and Village Centers.
