$40M Awarded for WA Wave Energy Test Facility
The award will be used to design, permit, and construct an open-water, grid-connected national wave energy testing facility. The facility will support innovations in wave energy technologies capable of harnessing the significant wave energy resources along United States coastlines.
WHEFA Issues $17.7M Bond for Construction of Residence Hall
The initiative was launched by the board of trustees in 2015 to improve residence life, a cornerstone of the college experience, officials said. The bonds are expected to save the college more than $1.2 million over the life of the bond on its present-value basis.
Four Seattle Transit Projects Will Receive $2B
The Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) and the Build America Bureau signed a pioneering, first-of-its-kind Master Credit Agreement (MCA). The agreement lays a foundation for working together to initiate four transit projects in the Seattle area.
WA LIFT Program Funds Puyallup Transportation Improvements
LIFT is a form of tax increment financing that funds public infrastructure projects for local governments within boundaries called a Revenue Development Area (RDA). Every year, LIFT provides Puyallup with a sales and use tax credit of up to $1 million every year for 25 years.
Energy Program Finances New Seattle Homes and Tacoma Theater
$1.8 million in loans from the Washington State Housing Finance Commission's Sustainable Energy Trust (SET), will finance energy retrofits at the Pantages Theatre in Tacoma and the construction of four energy-efficient homes on Seattle's Beacon Hill.
