Early Bird Rates End This Friday for CDFA Summer School
August 7-11, 2017 - Minneapolis, MN
CDFA Summer School is a week long series of courses presented by the CDFA Training Institute. These courses qualify for the Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) Program. Join us in Minneapolis, and start down the road to personal and professional advancement. Courses include: Fundamentals of Economic Development Finance, Intro Bond Finance, Intro Brownfields Finance, Intro Energy and Water Finance, and Intro Revolving Loan Fund.

Call For KY CDFA Financing Roundtable Advisory Committee Members
The Kentucky CDFA Financing Roundtable offers online resources, in person conferences, and a dedicated state finance newsletter. The CDFA Kentucky Financing Roundtable Advisory Committee was established to help lead the initiative's programming and direction. Advisory Committee participation is open to all active CDFA members. Interested stakeholders should contact CDFA to serve on the Advisory Committee.

CDFA Announces Kentucky League Of Cities as Official Partner of Kentucky Roundtable
CDFA is pleased to announce the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC) as an official partner of the CDFA Kentucky Financing Roundtable.Together, CDFA and KLC will host the 3rd Annual Kentucky Financing Roundtable Conference.

Louisville City FC Seeking TIF Funds for New Stadium
The Metro Council set aside $250,000 for the stadium project in the city's recently approved budget. Louisville City FC also is seeking to use tax increment financing. It has been approved for projects such as the downtown Marriott hotel and the KFC Yum! Center.

US House Panel Approves Bill to Aid Eastern KY
A proposal to accelerate $1 billion in federal spending to help struggling coal areas such as Eastern Kentucky has won approval from a U.S. House committee. The proposal now goes to the full House for consideration.

Yum Center Probe Finds Faulty TIF Projections in Louisville, KY
The Yum Center TIF's financial projections used 10 years of property tax data but 16 years of sales tax data. That meant a sales tax rate increase from 1990 was reflected in the financial projections, setting unrealistic expectations for the TIF from the onset.

NC Group Using EB-5 to Develop a $40M Mixed Use Boutique Hotel in Louisville
The first project in Kentucky using ten million dollars in EB-5 capital, is a $40 million mixed use boutique hotel in the Butchertown section of Louisville. This is a partnership between Creation Gardens in Louisville and a group out of Raleigh, North Carolina.

CDFA Summer School is a week long series of courses presented by the CDFA Training Institute. These courses qualify for the CDFA Training Institute's Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) Program. Participants may register for one, two, or three courses during CDFA Summer School. Complete three courses, and you will have fulfilled half of the requirements for the DFCP Program.

Join the CDFA Kentucky Financing Roundtable, in partnership with KLC, for a special one-day conference. This event will feature a number of economic development finance experts from around the state discussing development finance tools, authorities, resources and approaches, and how these can affect the Kentucky economy going forward.
