Pathway Lending Celebrates 10 Years of TN Rural Opportunity Fund
The TNROF is a public-private partnership between Pathway Lending, the state and the Tennessee Bankers Association. Created in 2007, the TNROF provides loans to small businesses across the state that are unable to access traditional bank financing.

Three Companies Set to Bring 333 Jobs to Rutherford, TN
Three new projects in Tennessee were approved by the Rutherford County Industrial Development Board for La Vergne, Smyrna and Rockvale bringing 333 jobs with annual salaries ranging from $28,000 to $75,000 to the county. The companies will be aided by incentives and will use payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) for funding.

Deadline Approaching for Arts Building Community Grants in TN
The Rose Center Council for the Arts is requesting Arts Build Communities (ABC) grant proposals for art projects from any non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located within Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen or Jefferson counties in Tennessee.

Cleveland, TN to Receive $1.2M RLF for Water System Improvements
Seven communities and one Utility District have been approved to receive over $33.4 million in low-interest loans for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements, including Cleveland which will receive a $1,195,000 loan for water distribution system improvement.  

Proposed Restaurant TIF Gets Budget Commitee OK in TN
Members of the Greene County Budget and Finance Committee moved a planned new Greeneville, TN, restaurant one step nearer to reality. The committee approved a tax increment financing plan and a site economic development plan for Aubrey's restaurant, which is seeking to locate beside the Towne Crossing 8 movie theater next spring.

Gap Inc. to Add More Than 500 Jobs in TN Aided with Tax Credits
Gap Inc. announced it will invest another $41.7 million and add more than 500 more jobs at the company's distribution center in Sumner County, TN. The expansion will be aided by state job tax credits and other incentives from both local government and the Tennessee Valley Authority.

TN Brewery Developers Seeking Tax Incentives for Second Phase
The developers of the Tennessee Brewery Project have applied for a 20-year tax abatement with the Center City Revenue Finance Corporation to begin construction on phase two of their Downtown Memphis mixed-use development.

TNECD Announces Asset Enhancement Grant Recipients
Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced today that 20 communities will receive Asset Enhancement Grants. The grants help distressed counties take steps to improve unemployment rates, per capita income, poverty rates and other economic measures.

CDFA Summer School is a week long series of courses presented by the CDFA Training Institute. These courses qualify for the CDFA Training Institute's Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) Program. Participants may register for one, two, or three courses during CDFA Summer School. Complete three courses, and you will have fulfilled half of the requirements for the DFCP Program.
