Port Authority Awarded $400K for Development-Ready Sites
The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority has received a $400,000 grant from Duke Energy for work to create development-ready sites that ultimately will attract new investment from industrial and logistics companies.
Youngstown Approves Incentives for Development Projects
The city's board of control approved funds through the Youngstown Initiative program to assist several area companies with equipment purchases and facades. Council members also approved a 10-year, 75% tax abatement for VAM USA, the Vallourec subsidiary that is considering Youngstown for an $81.5M pipe-threading mill at their Ohio Works Industrial Park.
Amendment to the Sunshine Law Permits Economic Development Executive Sessions
The recent Ohio state budget included an amendment to the Sunshine Law that creates a new exception to the general rule that public bodies hold open meetings. The new exception allows a public body to enter into an executive session to consider certain confidential information related to economic development initiatives administered by a local government.
Tax Credits to Bring $400M in Investment to Historic OH Sites
The Ohio Development Services Agency awarded $33 million in Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits to rehabilitate 31 historic buildings in 10 communities across the state. The projects are expected to leverage nearly $400 million in private investments.
Ohio Tax Credit 'Incredible' for Historic Buildings
Cincinnati's successful historic rehabilitations inspire officials such as Stephen Leeper, president and chief executive of Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. and David Goodman, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency, to hail the payoffs of the long-standing program.
