Angel Investor Tax Credit Program Helps Waitr Open in LA
Waitr, an on-demand food delivery service and online restaurant technology platform, opened its operations center in Lafayette, Louisiana. Waitr has utilized the state's Digital Interactive Media and Software Development Incentive and the Angel Investor Tax Credit Program to receive funding.

LA House Approves State PILOT Program
The Louisiana House approved a proposed constitutional amendment that would permit local governments to seek payments in lieu of taxes from manufacturers eligible for the state 10-year industrial tax exemptions.

LADOTD Debating How to Finance New Bridge Proposal
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) unveiled plans for a new Jimmie Davis Bridge Project. Officials estimate the total cost of the project to be somewhere between $80-to-100 million. While $23 million in state funding is already in place, paying the entire bill has led to the idea of possibly installing a toll road on the bridge.

Bill Overhauling LA Film Tax Credit Gaining Traction
A bill overhauling Louisiana's film tax credit program is gaining traction at the capitol where a House panel unanimously approved the measure. Film industry leaders who back the measure believe it could bring stability to the program which has been struggling in the past few years.

LA HB 187 Would Mandate Payment of ‘Outstanding' Solar Tax Credits
The Louisiana State Committee on Ways and Means moved on May 1 to fix one of its "broken promises" by unanimously passing a bill to pay solar energy systems tax credits still owed before the legislature put a cap on the program last June.

EPA Grant of More Than $158K Will Support Public Drinking Water Systems in LA
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently awarded $158,101 to the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (LDHH) to support several public drinking water systems in Louisiana. The funding is part of EPA's ongoing commitment to assist local drinking water systems in Louisiana.

Opinion: Tax Credits Promote Growth in LA
Desperate times often equal desperate measures that do more harm than good. Such is the case with many of Louisiana's economic development tax credits — the State Historic Tax Credit in particular. Currently, the legislative session brings another threat to the credit which improves LA's downtowns and other historic areas.
