New KY Entrepreneur Program to Support Former Criminals
The leaders of the SBA, W.K. Kellogg Foundation and microlender Justine Peterson announced the formation of the Aspire Entrepreneurship Initiative, a groundbreaking new $2.1 million partnership to expand access to entrepreneurial education and microloans for formerly incarcerated individuals.

KY's SOAR Region Receives $12M in Federal Grants
As part of the work of Shaping our Appalachian Region, grants totaling more than $12 million were announced for projects in Kentucky. With these investments, more than 400 jobs will be created in the region along with almost $40 million in economic impact and leveraged project funding.

The developer of the West Louisville FoodPort abruptly canceled the $35 million project Wednesday, shelving the celebrated local food project that has been a cornerstone of Mayor Greg Fischer's redevelopment strategy in the West End.
