USDA Loans Expand Rural Broadband Infrastructure in CA, IL, IA, and TX
Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue has announced that USDA is awarding four loans to help provide broadband service in rural portions of California, Illinois, Iowa and Texas.

Rivian Closes Deal on IL Manufacturing Facility
Rivian Automotive first began discussions with the town and factory owner in mid-September, before announcing on December 9 that they had entered into an agreement to purchase the facility. The Town of Normal gave the company an incentive package, including a five-year tax abatement and a $1 million grant.
Sangamon County Approves Enterprise Zone Expansion for Natural Gas
The Sangamon County Board unanimously approved an extension of enterprise zone tax breaks to the developer of a proposed natural-gas power plant south of Pawnee. The Springfield City Council and Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity also must approve the enterprise zone expansion.
Now May be a Good Time to Buy IL Bonds
Despite the governmental gridlock, the fifth most-populous state has "strong fundamentals" and the power to tax and grow its way out of the financial hole, Citigroup said in a report to clients, citing the diverse economy and strong legal security backing its debt.
