Energy Florida & Solar and Energy Loan Fund to Speak on Innovation & Energy Finance
Development finance agencies in Florida have significant capacity to support innovation and energy development. Mike Aller with Energy Florida and Doug Coward with Solar Energy Loan Fund will focus on programs, models, and case studies related to local financing support for innovation development and energy efficiency/renewable energy.

Targeted Financing Strategies in Florida
Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and Special Assessment Districts have become powerful financing mechanisms which are available to help communities concentrate development opportunities into targeted locations. Within this session, Cheryl Strickland with Stifel Nicolaus & Company, Inc., and Carol Westmoreland with Florida Redevelopment Association will discuss their experience using these tools to catalyze public improvements that spur private investment.

Investment & Accessing Capital in Florida
Investment and access to capital tools drive business and industry growth in the state. During this session, the Roundtable will explore the most innovative and effective access to capital tools being administered in Florida including tax credits, revolving loan funds, seed/venture capital, guarantees and other effective investment and debt instruments.

Miami District Plans to Sell $91M of Bonds in Refinancing
According to Bloomberg, the midtown Miami Community Development District is selling $91M of bonds to refinance debt for a parking garage, roads and other projects. The district is the location of a planned Wal-Mart store and the securities are backed by revenue from property taxes and special assessments.

Florida Direct Financial Incentives for 2014
Area Development Online published a partial listing of Florida's incentive programs to initiate new business and commercial investment. Information was provided to Area Development by the state's economic development or commerce agency.

Enterprise Florida 2013 Annual Report

Enterprise Florida, Inc. released its 2013 Annual Report. Enterprise Florida is a public-private partnership between Florida's business and government leaders. In fiscal year 2012-2013, private businesses contributed $1.5M in funding. The Annual Report goes into detail on Enterprise Florida's funding sources and usage.

Florida Rural Economic Development Study
Infrastructure Finance | Rural Development | Tax Credits
Enterprise Florida and Boyette Strategic Advisors developed an Economic Development Strategic Plan for Rural Florida. The study was developed with involvement of nearly 500 participants including economic professionals and elected officials in rural regions. This study is meant to provide direction to Rural Florida economic development over the next five years.

Florida Community Loan Fund: NMTC Guidelines
Tax Credits
The Florida Community Loan Fund published a document outlining the New Markets Tax Credit Program Guidelines. The Florida Community Loan Fund was the first Florida based entity to receive a NMTC allocation and has received $111M in allocations.
