According to the Daily Journal, the loan allowed the city to keep three of its TIF districts in place longer, after state law set an expiration date for those taxing districts if they have no debt, and the money borrowed could go to larger projects the city had been considering.
Janesville, WI TIF Deal Could Bring New Corporate Offices Downtown
Under a proposed city development deal, medical radioisotope startup SHINE Medical Technologies would move its corporate headquarters and at least 80 employees to office space in the heart of downtown Janesville. The owners of the building are seeking a tax-increment financing loan totaling $384,100 to to help them renovate the vacant top floor of the building, according to the Gazette Xtra.
Oklahoma City Council Advances TIF Plan for Wheeler District
The Oklahoma City Council took another step toward creating a tax increment financing district for the Wheeler neighborhood near downtown, just south of the Oklahoma River, reports KGOU.
Oregon, IL Taking Steps to Create its First TIF District
According to Sauk Valley, City Council began the process of forming a tax increment financing district in Oregon, IL, an economic tool that Oregon has never had before.
